The average human lifespan is around 70 years. Out of those 70 years, we spend nearly 24 years sleeping and another 24 years working. If you look at the numbers closely, two-thirds of our life are already spoken for. What remains — that precious one-third — is all we truly have for ourselves.Life is not always about surviving, it also about living at least for sometime
Out of respect for the life we’ve been given, we owe ourselves at least 10 minutes each day for "me time" - The time to connect with our self and make us happy.
Allotting just 10 minutes each day to yourself is not an act of selfishness or loneliness — it's an act of self-respect. It's about pausing, recharging, and realigning yourself with your true needs.Those 10 minutes can reduce anxiety, lower stress, and significantly improve your mental health. They create a space where you can listen to your own heart without the noise of the outside world. Over time, this small habit helps you feel more satisfied, more peaceful, and genuinely happier.And trust me, those 10 minutes of me time will be the best gift you can give yourself.
Simple Ways to Embrace Me Time:
The simplest way to practice your me time is by setting aside 10 to 30 minutes for yourself every day — at least 10 minutes without fail. During this time, take a complete digital detox: switch off your phone, stay away from social media, and create a space where nobody can disturb you.
Use these minutes to do activities you genuinely love — paint, write, read a book, go for a peaceful walk, sing your heart out, or dance like no one’s watching. The activity you choose completely depends on you and what brings you joy.
My Daily Me Time Ritual:
One of my favorite ways to practice me time is through my nightly skincare routine. I dedicate 15 minutes every evening to this ritual. I make sure to create a quiet, peaceful environment, where I can truly focus on myself. I play a slow-paced song in the background, allowing the calm music to guide me.As I go through each step of my skincare routine, I feel a sense of peace wash over me. It’s become one of the most important activities in my day, and I make sure never to miss it. No matter how busy life gets, I’ve made it a priority — because this time allows me to recharge, and connect with myself.
Lastly, it's absolutely okay to prioritize yourself — even if it's just for 10 minutes. We owe ourselves at least 10 minutes each day.
